North Dakota’s ethanol plants produce 1 to 1.3 million tons of distillers grain annually. This high-value feed is sold to North Dakota livestock producers. However, 80-90% is exported due to oversupply for the current demand in North Dakota. Distillers grains are exported to Canada, Mexico, China, Texas and neighboring states.
